This dress could not match Paul Klee’s piece any better. It’s just perfect. Not only are the colors wonderful, but I love the cut. The bracelet also goes really well with the dress & painting. I was especially interested in the yellow moon in the piece, so I added the yellow heels & round, crystal earrings. I love the yellow & purple together! They are complements afterall. The pink purse was the last piece I added. It’s square like the blocks in the painting & is simple enough to not take away from the rest of the look.

This outfit was probably the fastest one I’ve ever made. It really just fell together as soon as I found the dress. I stumbled upon it & instantly thought of Kline. I love the gray accessories & the jewelry couldn’t match better.

This dress could not have been more perfect. It’s modern, but it definitely looks at home with this classic piece of artwork. I paired it with the white scarf to tie in the figure’s toga. The jewelry is gold leaves to go with the foliage in the painting. My favorite part of this outfit is by far the wine colored heels. Clever, right?

Dress- Net-A-Porter
Purse- Kate Spade
Necklace- charmandchain.com
Shoes- Seychelles
When I made this outfit I was thinking about what I’d like to wear if I were visiting this lighthouse. I would want to wear a flowy dress like this one from Net-A-Porter. The blue of the dress is a tad different than the sky, but I think it works. The overall outfit definitely has a nautical theme with the braided detail in the shoes & the chain-like necklace. I love the red that I pulled out of the lighthouse for the necklace.

I just love this outfit & the artwork that inspired it. It’s feminine, simple & would be so fun to wear. The top was the first piece I found & it’s a perfect match. It even has a butterfly that’s hidden quite like the one in the painting. The brown shorts match the table the flowers are on & the green shoes are an obvious choice to go with the leaves & stems. There’s nothing more fun than wearing shorts & flats though. Let’s be honest. The accessories were so much fun to play with. I chose the ring & butterfly earrings to add a little flash & the purse to go with the giant peony in the front.

This is one of the first outfits that I created, but it’s still one of my favorites. I think the dress goes so well with the painting because of both the color & the calm feeling they both seem to have. I love teal & orange together, especially with that pink. My favorite part is the earrings & the connection they have to the leaves in the art.

This outfit is BRIGHT. There’s no way around it. Wouldn’t it be perfect for a tropical vacation or a day trip to the beach? I chose the orange & blue because they’re the main colors in the painting, but I didn’t stop there. I added the bracelet, which also brings the light purple into the outfit. I decided to use gold accessories. The necklace matches the trees in the piece & the gold sandals bring more gold into the outfit & match the necklace. This outfit isn’t for you unless you’re ready to stand out in the crowd, but if you’ve accepted that fact, go for it!

When I found this dress I was so happy. It goes with all of the colors in the nude so well, besides being a beautiful dress, in general. The calla lilly necklace & leave earrings go really well with this painting, for obvious reasons. I think my favorite part may be the shoes though because their resemblance to the basket is more subtle.

How often can you really pull off wearing a brocade dress? In this outfit, it’s not only socially acceptable, but stylish! The artwork has the most amazing colors & textures. I wanted to do this justice. The brocade dress was just the beginning. I layered it under a navy cardigan. It not only makes it more modern, but brings out the dark background. I wanted to include the purple necklace the figure is wearing. I love this one that I found so much that I included periwinkle pumps, too. These colors look fantastic together, but I doubt I ever would have combined them had I not been inspired by this painting. The navy purse has a great texture since it’s made out of silk. It looks great with the dress. Lastly, I included the earrings that have a similar look at the jewel on her head. Love it!

This is currently my favorite outfit I’ve created. I can’t believe I could find all of these things that fit with the art so well. The tea cup ring, the newspaper purse & the belt that matches the tablecloth are wonderful little details in both the outfit & the art. I can’t even believe that I could find a dress or shoes that matched the ones she’s wearing. I squealed when I first saw that dress because it’s perfect!
